Lanesboro Arts presents Annie Mack at the St. Mane Theatre on Saturday, October 4th at 7:00 p.m.! Tickets are on sale now for $25 General Admission, $20 Lanesboro Arts Members.
Annie Mack is a soulful singer and unflinching songwriter who writes from the gut and demands your attention. Raised in North Minneapolis and currently living in Rochester, MN, Annie Mack grew up in the 80s, influenced by the rich Twin Cities music scene. Inspired by her mother’s love of music, she started singing, performing at local joints. Although never intending it to be a career, it quickly became one.
Artistically this work will examine relatable themes that directly impact so many in our community: death, love, grief, queerness, healing, activism, and critical hope in the midst of devastating times. “Wolves of Impermanence” is meant to elevate a relevant perspective and honor lived experience and legacy in a time when the human experience feels exceptionally fragile. Mack shares, “When thinking about the purpose of music and why I choose to make music, I want this album to leave listeners with a comfort and connection to impermanence that respects the mystery of life, while removing the stigma of death. Rooting difficult experiences in melody offers the community a potential conversation about what’s possible when moving beyond the expected. It’s also meaningful and immensely crucial to create new music that intersects a variety of genres beyond the standard traditions of what each genre affords independently”.
Working her way through the Midwest bar scene, Mack built a reputation as a powerhouse blues singer getting national recognition at some of North America’s top festivals, including The John Coltraine Jazz Festival, Thunder Bay Music Festival, Twin Cities Jazz Festival and the Bayfront Blues Festival. In addition to playing some of the top blues and jazz clubs like Buddy Guy’s Legends (Chicago) and The Dakota (Minneapolis), Mack has recently garnered the attention of indie rock tastemakers like The Current , landing her gigs at prestigious performing arts centers and rock venues like First Avenue –the iconic club where Prince filmed Purple Rain. She has shared the bill with such wide-ranging artists as Dessa (hip hop), Ondara (folk), Cloud Cult (indie rock) and blues legend Robert Cray. She is featured in the book 50 Women in the Blues, alongside Bessie Smith, Bonnie Raitt, Mavis Staples, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Ruthie Foster and Janis Joplin.
In 2013, Mack released her debut album Baptized in the Blues, which put her on the blues map and established her as a powerhouse performer and singer. After keeping up a rigorous touring schedule, she took time off to record her 2017 EP Tell It Like It Is –a more personal collection of songs about recovery and healing that showcased her serious songwriting chops. With the release of her recording Testify (2021) she solidified her position as a top-tier singer, songwriter and producer who has found her musical home, performing her own unique blend of blues, country, rock and soul. The release finds her confident and comfortable, owning her place as a rising star in the roots music scene. When not busy making music or rearing her three children, Annie Mack works as a death doula, accompanying people who are dying and supporting their families.
This event is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

The St. Mane Theatre box office will open at 6:00 p.m. the day of the event. Tickets will also be sold in-person beginning at that time.
Each ticket purchased with a bank card will be charged an additional processing fee of $0.99. Patrons can avoid this processing fee by paying via cash or check in the Lanesboro Arts Gallery, or before the event in the St. Mane Theatre lobby.
If you are unable to purchase tickets online or need additional assistance, you may try calling 507-467-2446 to purchase a ticket over the phone during business hours. Tickets are also sold in-person during business hours at Lanesboro Arts Gallery.
We will have a list of the ticket buyer names at the box office beginning at 6:30 p.m. If the buyer and their guests arrive together, no physical receipt or proof of purchase is needed in order to be admitted to the event–we will have a list!
Alternatively, attendees can present a printed copy of the ticket PDF the ticket buyer was e-mailed or simply pull it up and present it on a smart device.
