About the Artists & Residency

This dance workshop forms part of an exciting place-based arts residency on the Isle of Arran, supported by North Ayrshire Council through Creative Scotland’s Culture Collective programme, funded by the Scottish Government.

The residency brings together two acclaimed dance artists, Claire Pençak (Scottish Borders) and Saffy Setohy (Glasgow), who are working collaboratively on Arran as part of the Clyde Bioregion Residency Programme. Over the next eight months, their work explores themes of rewilding, archaeology and ecology through contemporary movement and creative practice, in close partnership with local communities.

Based at Drumadoon Estate, the artists are living and working from a unique off-grid mobile studio, allowing them to connect deeply with Arran’s landscape, heritage and people. Their practice is rooted in collaboration, sensory exploration and place-responsive movement, inviting participants to reflect on how we understand the past, live in the present and imagine more sustainable futures.

This workshop offers a chance to move, explore and connect as part of this wider creative journey.
