About the event

Panch Pokhari Trek
Panch Pokhari Trek
The Panch Pokhari Trek, renowned for its peaceful Himalayan scenery and beautiful alpine lakes, is a little-known but excellent trek in Nepal's Sindhupalchok province. The trail starts in Chautara or Melamchi and travels through terraced farmlands, rhododendron forests, and traditional Tamang and Sherpa communities that are welcoming and culturally rich. Trekkers are treated to expansive vistas of Jugal Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Rolwaling, and even the far-off peaks of Langtang and Everest as the journey climbs. The main attraction is Panch Pokhari, a venerated group of five glacial lakes at 4,100 meters that are regarded as sacred by both Buddhists and Hindus. When pilgrims assemble to pay respects in this sacred environment during the Janai Purnima festival, the landscape comes alive.
