This course provides an introduction from which you may improve posture, refine breathing, tone and strengthen you body whilst improving movement and exploring Pranayama (breath control). This course serves as a safe foundation from which you may confidently participate in the open Yoga classes at the studio. Please bring a mat, if not we have spares and blocks and straps will be provided
We will enjoy these sessions be by the pool and should it rain we have cover.
Starts Tuesday 6th May 18.30 - 19.30pm
Week 1:
Introduction to Yoga and overview of postures Exploring Pranayama (breath control)
Learn basic postures.
Week 2:
Introduction to standing postures including the Warrior series Sun salutations.
Week 3:
Introduction to inversions including downward facing dog, forward fold and balancing postures.
Introduction to heart opening postures.
Week 4: Seated postures including forward fold, twists and how to use the breath in these postures and closing mediation.
Discussion on the course, Q and A.
