The Red Thread
This body of work gathers women into a lineage that is at once intimate and universal. The red thread is the through-line: a symbol of blood and kinship, of memory and destiny, of the ties that cannot be broken. Each portrait emerges not simply as an image of a single woman, but as a living tether across time. In the act of stitching, the puncture itself becomes a vow; each pass of the thread binds the work to those who came before, and to those yet to come.
The paintings are made through a reductive process of oil — wiping away rather than layering on. What remains is not painted over but revealed, as if uncovered from stone. This apophatic method reflects the feminine mysteries: presence unveiled through absence, the seen emerging from what has been removed. The limited palette centers red not as ornament, but as artery — grounding the portraits in the pulse of life, the living current of blood and thread.

Sacred geometry is embedded throughout, sometimes visible, sometimes veiled. The golden ratio becomes the scaffolding for the works, an invisible order that holds the women in coherence, much as ancient circles and lineages once did.
