The Lucy (RMS LUSITANIA) narrated Presentation by David Kaplan

The Great War was raging in Europe and the United States was trying to keep it sneutrality. As the War grew, PresidentWoodrow Wilson was somewhat distracted from the world events by events in his own personal life. The Lusitania, the pride of the Cunard Line, was continuing Transatlantic service between New York andLiverpool, sailing through the hostile seas of German U-boats. Her speed was her great defense; however,her luck ran out in May 1915. The luxury liner was torpedoed and sank in only 18 minutes with a great loss of life including 128 Americans. This incidentset the US on a collision course with Germany which resulted with the USentering the Great War, now known as World War l. The main leaders of this event, PresidentWoodrow Wilson, First Lord of the Admiralty Winston Churchill, and U-boatCaptain Walther Schweiger, are discussed.
