If you’ve visited our shop or seen us at local outdoor markets, you’ve likely spotted our beloved cloth garlands. They always spark the same question: “Can I buy this?” and I’ve had to gently say, “No, they’re my décor.” But after many requests and teaching this craft offsite, I’m delighted to now offer this class right here in our community!
We’ll use flour sack cotton towels, hand-dyed with a time-honored method—each yardage steeped in black tea to give it a lovely aged look. I’ve already done the drying on our lower porch, so you can skip that step and dive straight into the fun! I hand-cut all the strips, so they're ready for you to craft your own stylish, one-of-a-kind garland, perfect for keeping or gifting.
You’ll design a vintage-inspired garland, then embellish it with pine cones, berry stems, pumpkins, and raffia—all thoughtfully prepared for you. Your finished piece will be about 4 feet long, adding a delicate seasonal touch to any space—doorways, mantels, centerpieces, you name it.
This workshop welcomes ages 12 and up, though it’s especially great for adults craving a cozy craft session with friends. After we’ve crafted and chatted, you’re invited to spend a little time with the goats. The shop will be open if you want to browse, and I’ll have fresh baked goods available for purchase, along with complimentary tea to keep the warm vibes flowing.
