Sail, if you dare, to the parlor of this 1800s lake estate for a spine-chilling night of stories from Edgar Allen Poe.
Enjoy a glittering sunset cruise on Geneva Lake courtesy of Lake Geneva Cruise Line before docking at this historic Queen Anne manor for an evening of gothic allure and chilling tales from one of America’s greatest authors.
Upon docking, step into the historic Black Point Estate, a stunning residence that serves as the perfect backdrop for a night of eerie, ethereal storytelling. Join Edgar Allan Poe historian and author Joshua Dubbert as he presents three dramatic readings of the macabre poet’s work in the estate parlor. Tremble to “The Tell-Tale Heart,” flinch at “The Mask of the Red Death,” and brace yourself for “The Raven,”—if you dare! After the readings, guests will have the opportunity to engage in a question-and-answer session and explore the first floor of this gorgeous—and spooky—1888 summer cottage.

About the Location
Black Point Estate, built in 1888 as a retreat for Chicago Beer Baron Conrad Seipp, has persisted through the centuries as a historic place to relax, refresh, and explore the banks of Geneva Lake and beyond. Much like the Victorian VIPs who originally established the estate, visitors can enjoy the cool lake breezes on the mansion's veranda, sip Seipp beer, and listen to the soothing melodies of the authentic 1911 Chickering piano that rests just inside. As one of the oldest homes in Lake Geneva and a premier example of period architecture and furniture in the Midwest, Black Point Estate offers a glimpse into the rich and historic past of the Gilded Age.
