We're entering the golden time of year -- the weather is getting cooler, the days are still long, and everything is still green. This weekend promises to be a glorious one for stewardship.

Top ecological priorities this week include gathering seeds and treating purple loosestrife. Species we may gather include rosinweed, bottlebrush grass, and dark green bulrush. In bloom now are prairie dock and dropseed in the prairie, while in the woods elm-leaved goldenrod is just coming into its own...
