Sonia Sotomayor presents 'Just Shine!: How to Be a Better You' [SOLD OUT]

Third Place Books is honored to welcome Sonia Sotomayor, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, for a discussion of her brand new picture book, . Justice Sotomayor will be joined by a special guest on stage, followed by audience Q&A and book signing. Questions may be submitted by attendees via Eventbrite in advance of the event date. Tickets are required.

Please read carefully before purchasing your ticket:

• To join the post-event signing line, customers must have a copy of either Just Shine or Solo Brilla. The author will also sign additional titles purchased at the event.
• Photographs, personalizations, and memorabilia are not permitted during the signing line.
• A limited number of pre-signed copies of Just Shine! will be available for purchase at the event.
• Recording is prohibited during the event, including the Q&A and signing line.
• Tickets must be purchased through Eventbrite. Pre-ordering the book will NOT grant you access to the event. Tickets purchased from a third-party platform may be invalid. Contact us at events [at] thirdplacebooks.com if you would like to verify your ticket purchase.
• If you purchase a book-bundled ticket but are unable to attend the event, your book will be placed on hold at our Lake Forest Park store. You may request to have your book transferred to our Ravenna or Seward Park neighborhood stores, or shipped to your address for an additional fee. We cannot guarantee signed editions for ticket holders who are unable to attend.

Sonia Sotomayor was born in the Bronx, New York. She earned a BA from Princeton University and a JD from Yale Law School. She served as assistant district attorney in New York County, and then as a litigator at Pavia & Harcourt. In 1991, President George H. W. Bush nominated her to the US District Court, Southern District of New York. In 1997, President William Jefferson Clinton nominated her to the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. President Barack Obama nominated her as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States on May 26, 2009, and she assumed this role August 8, 2009, becoming the first Latina to serve in this position.
