Vertical Skill Camp - Head Down is designed for beginner to intermediate flyers who want to progress their vertical / freefly skills in a small group setting. This camp is also recommended for anyone who wants to progress their dynamic flying skills - If you want to fly steep angles, pass through the vertical, HU track or transition from an angle/track to vertical HU or HD, then you need to have good vertical skills!
Beginner groups will be working on the fundamentals of vertical formation flying (what is level, slot, dock?) including different ways to exit the aircraft HD, slow and fast fall rates, high fives and how to approach and break off from a formation. Intermediate groups will be working on diving/floating exits, 360 turns, carving, docking or breaking in, and VFS / sequential style dive flows.
Minimum requirements:
150 skydives
Must be able to hold and fly static HD the entire skydive
Must be on level within 15ft of the base/leader, without excessive movement
Must be able to fly safely in a group of 4 (3, plus coach)
Must be able to break off safely by turning 180 from centre of the formation and track away
*If you do not yet meet these minimum requirements please get in touch to organize 1:1 coaching as this is the best way to learn good habits from the start.
Camp Format:
- 1 day camp (Sat 25 Oct)
- Skydive Elsinore
- must commit to 6 jumps (weather permitting)
- Group sizes are 3 participants plus coach
- 40 minute calls giving people time to pack, watch video of jump, brief the next jump
- The day will start with a 30 minute seminar/briefing on safety considerations before jumping starts.
Cost and registration:
- Registration is $225
- Registration does not include your jump tickets ($31 each, block jumps cannot be used)
