The Sawteha Gallery brings the faces and voices of Christian women to you. For women and girls in the Middle East the constant threat of persecution is woven into the fabric of their daily lives. In conflict zones, unstable regions, and places where Christianity is a minority faith, women face unique dangers simply because they follow Christ. Forced marriage, sexual violence, abduction, and relentless psychological abuse are just a few of the brutal realities they endure. Females also face insidious and invisible persecution, often at the hands of their own family members; converts to Christianity are especially at risk. Many women are denied educational and self-improvement opportunities because of long-held cultural traditions and expectations.

For over a decade, Take Heart has stood alongside these courageous women, listening to their stories, offering support, and bearing witness to their faith. The Sawteha Gallery bridges the distance from them to you. As you read their stories and reflect on their art, let your heart be moved.
