The BVPA’s State of the River Celebration free registration is now open! 🎟️
Please join the Bayou Vermilion Preservation Association (BVPA) on Thursday, October 09, 2025 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Vermilionville Performance Center in Lafayette for the 6th annual State of the River celebration!
More than twenty presenters will be available at booths for informal conversations about important topics in their area of expertise. This year, we will host presenters from University of Louisiana at Lafayette, local and state government including Lafayette Consolidated Government, Bayou Vermilion District, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, and non-government Organizations with missions that impact our Teche-Vermilion watershed such as the Teche Project, the Atchafalaya Basinkeeper, The Nature Conservancy and Acadiana Native Plant Project, just to name a few. Presenters will be able to discuss:
💧water quality
🎨art
🌊flood management
🐟fish & wildlife
🛶recreation
🫵and current efforts being made by public and private groups to improve our watershed
BVPA will be giving away a rain barrel. Other presenters will have plants to be given away during the event.
A free bowl of delicious cajun chicken pasta is included with each ticket. A limited number of free drink tickets will also be available.
