Tanguy Soubigou and Simon Creachcadec come from Plougastel, a small town in Brittany, France — but their sound reaches far beyond borders. With just diatonic accordion and saxophone, they create powerful, groove-driven music that moves bodies and stirs hearts.
Their style is rooted in Breton dance traditions, but this isn’t museum music — it’s alive, raw, and built for the here and now. Think of it as global folk with a pulse: hypnotic accordion riffs, soaring saxophone lines, and rhythms that pull you onto the floor whether you know the steps or not.
Their journey as a duo took flight in 2017 during a tour through Louisiana, where the cultural crossover between Brittany and Cajun country lit a fire in their music. Since then, they’ve carved out a sound that’s both deeply traditional and unmistakably modern.
Tanguy grew up steeped in music — his family has been playing for five generations. By age 10 he was on stage, and over the years he’s become a respected figure in the Breton music scene, performing across Europe and the U.S., winning major awards, and even writing his music thesis on the swing feel of traditional Breton dances.
Simon is a dynamic saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist (he also plays clarinet and bombarde) with a passion for live performance. A former member of the prestigious Bagad de Lann-Bihoué (France’s national naval band), he brings a jazz-influenced edge, rich tone, and infectious energy that lifts the whole room.
On stage, there’s no script — just pure musical chemistry, deep rhythmic drive, and a sense of joy that’s impossible to fake. Whether you’re in a concert hall, a dance tent, or hearing them for the first time on a festival lawn, Duo Soubigou / Creachcadec invites you to move, connect, and feel.
