For those interested or applying to Basin Arts' ProjectSpace Residency: Join us at the Hilliard Museum for an information session regarding 2026 ProjectSpace Residency projects.
ProjectSpace Residency is a dynamic and evolving interdisciplinary artist residency program in Lafayette, Louisiana. The 2026 residency cycle will support TWO collaborative, artistic projects, providing professional artists from the Acadiana region with the structure, space, and support to create new work while deeply engaging the community in the creative process.
New to ProjectSpace Residency this year, Basin Arts will partner with the Hilliard Art Museum & UL-Lafayette, to provide selected projects and artists with a preliminary research and development phase in advance of their creation residency within the Basin Arts gallery (October - December 2025). During this period, artists will be supported in conducting research through guided access to the Hilliard Art Museum's permanent collection, mentored by the Hilliard's curatorial team, and receive scholarly input from ULL faculty members.
Following this research period, each project will be given a three-month residency within the Basin Arts Gallery at our new location (126 South Buchanan St in Downtown Lafayette) diving deeper into the creation process while allowing the creative process to become visible to the community as the work unfolds into a full exhibition. This period will be directly supported and mentored by Basin Arts curator, Bethany LeJeune, along with production support and guidance from the Basin Arts staff.
