Learn-to Paddle - Voyageur Canoe Experience

Would you like to know how voyageurs got around in the fur trade era? 💭

This summer, take part in a Learn-to Paddle voyageur canoe activity presented by guides from The Fur Trade at Lachine and Lachine Canal National Historic Sites!

On the agenda: explanations of paddling technique, guided voyageur canoe expedition on the Lachine Canal, interpretation of the fur trade, folk songs, and more.

Dates: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from June 21 to August 31, 2025; reservations required

🕥 Schedule and length: there are two departures per day, at 10:30 am and 2 pm. Please arrive at least 15 minutes in advance.

The voyageur canoe experience lasts 2.5 hours (including travel time and water safety briefing).
Please allow time before or after the activity to visit the fur warehouse.
