MAKE: Bowl Cozy

Join multidisciplinary artist Savannah-Rye for a class focused on comfort, care, and practical craft. In this inviting session, you’ll learn how to sew an insulated fabric bowl cozy; the perfect accessory for protecting your hands from hot soup or keeping ice cream chilled.

This project is a wonderful way to introduce intention into your kitchen routine or create beautiful, heartfelt gifts.

This hands-on workshop is designed to be highly approachable (no previous experience necessary), making it a perfect introduction to simple textile work and machine sewing.

What you'll learn and create:

• Foundation sewing: Master essential straight-line sewing techniques, measuring, and working with patterns.
• Insulation and structure: Learn how to work with insulating cotton batting to create the necessary protective structure.
• Thoughtful finishing: Focus on clean construction, durable seams, and how to create the neat, finished shape of the cozy.

By the end of the class, you will leave with oneconstructed, reversible bowl cozy and the confidence to easily replicate this quick and useful project at home. If time is allowed you may make two.

This class is designed for absolute beginners. All sewing machines, cutting tools, fabrics, and high-quality materials are provided. If you have a specific cotton fabric you're set on, you may bring in four 10X10-inch pieces.
