BASICS: Metal Grinders & Buffers

This Basics class will run 1.5-2 hours and cover the foundational knowledge needed to use the Grinders at LMS. Demonstrated proficiency is requested before using the grinders if you've never used grinders independently before.

In this hands-on Metal Grinder & Buffer class, we will cover introductory methods for using the benchtop grinders, angle grinders and buffer in the metals lab of Lacey MakerSpace.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CLASSES IN THE METALS LAB:

• Closed-toe shoes are required.
• Pants. No shorts or synthetic materials (preferably jeans, leathers, or cotton)
• Ages 12 and up can attend. Attendees under the age of 18 must have a guardian present at all times (Parents, please visit our policies page for the Minor Use Policy and Waiver).

Starting July 19th 2025 we will be instituting a $10 no-show fee for LMS members who don't show up for the classes they sign up for. These fees will be charged to the card we have on file. This fee is being implemented due to a pattern of members not showing up to our classes. Our classes have a limited amount of slots and we want to serve as many attendees as possible.
