The Winter Place Documentary - Fundraiser

Hi Islanders!! As some of you may know, Bix Giegerich and I have been working on a documentary about winter life on Madeline Island for the last two years- The Winter Place (working title) is a documentary that follows the lives of the winter residents on Madeline Island as they live through the unique winter conditions of living on an island in Lake Superior.

Thus far, Bix & I have self funded our time filming on the island. Our immediate goal is to raise funds that would alleviate the financial strain of taking time away from other work to make this film that is so important to us.

In partnership with MIHPA we are seeking donations from private donors that are interested in seeing what life is like in the winter on the island. All donations would be tax deductible.

I will be hosting a gathering at The Beach Club on August 30th at 5pm which will include a presentation that will explain a bit more about the film and answer any questions. Whether you're interested in donating or not, we'd love to see you there!
