Are you tired of sitting through the same TOT content over and over to meet the 15 hr renewal requirements? Sick of endless icebreakers, games, and fidgets? Then this training is for YOU! The last 5 years have thrown out the blueprints and broken every mold we've known when it comes to kids and classroom management. Our training strategies have to evolve to meet the ever changing needs of child care teachers and directors.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day, and we promise to make it as engaging an opportunity as possible.

Amy Musick, M.Ed., MS

Amy is a former middle school and high school science teacher who has leaped into the world of early childhood education feet first. She is an Infant and Toddler Specialist, a Child Care Health Consultant, and holds master's degrees in school administration and early childhood education. She is a nationally credentialed child care director and has been recognized by TXAEYC as the Susan Hargrave Trainer of the Year in 2022. She is the Co-Executive Director of SMART Family Literacy, an educational nonprofit organization that distributes over 30,000 children's books annually through its outreach based programming, which included training 1,381 early childhood educators in 2024.

Tom Wilbeck, MA, LPC

Tom Wilbeck is a Licensed Professional Counselor, trainer, author, and performer who has been delivering therapeutic and educational interventions since 1995. He is currently in private practice as a child and adolescent therapist, licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners, specializing in play therapy. Tom has also been a trainer for groups ranging from Exxon, Coca-Cola, and NASA to early childhood education audiences in the greater Houston area for nearly thirty years.

As a performer, Tom is “Mr. Tom” from Tom’s Fun Band, a nationally ranked children’s recording artist with four albums to his credit. Tom has had the distinct pleasure of performing more than 350 shows per year since 2007, reaching hundreds of thousands of children with his infectious and heartwarming original songs. Tom is also the author of the 2023 release “7 Lessons from an Unlikely Teacher.” Tom firmly believes that we each have a purpose. Whether in a therapeutic setting, during a training session, or on stage, Tom aims to bring joy to people’s lives, allowing their purpose to shine through.
