In this five-week course, Led by Shoua Yang, a local professional printmaker, students will learn to carve from a linoleum board producing their very own linocuts and having the opportunity to print the old fashion way with a tortilla press.
Students will come up with their own design, learn to transfer the design, carve on a linoleum board to produce a "linocut" and print the linocuts producing relief prints. Students will also learn to print with a variety of methods.
Class occurring weekly on TUESDAY, starting September 30 and running through October 28. By the final week, students will have created a design, carved, and printed their work.

Note: weeks 1-3: 5-7 PM (2hrs) and weeks 4-5: 5-8 PM (3hrs)
$95 for 5 week session (must be able to attend each session)
All Supplies are included in class fee

*This course may require you to work on your projects at home if class time does not allow you to finish desired design before next step.
Course schedule:
• Week 1, Tues, Sept. 30, 5:00-7:00 PM – intro, PowerPoint presentation, work on image/theme, assignment to work on your image, harder the image the longer you carve, part in theater, part in art studio
• Week 2, Tues, Oct. 7, 5:00-7:00 PM – image transfer, have a complete image, learn how to put image onto linoleum board, assigned to finish transfer
• Week 3, Tues, Oct. 16, 5:00-7:00 PM – carving, demo, finish at home
• Week 4, Tues, Oct. 21, 5:00-8:00 PM – printing on paper
•Week 5, Tues, Oct. 20, 5:00-8:00 PM – Print presentation, discussion, Q&A
