BIO
Deb Olin Unferth is the author of seven books, including the novels Barn 8, Earth 7 (forthcoming in 2026 from Graywolf), and Vacation, as well as the story collection Wait Till You See Me Dance, and the memoir Revolution, finalist for the National Book Critics’ Circle Award. Her fiction and essays have appeared in Harper’s, The Paris Review, Granta, McSweeney’s, and the New York Times Magazine. She has received a Guggenheim fellowship, four Pushcart Prizes, and a Creative Capital Grant. A Professor of creative writing at the University of Texas at Austin, she is also director of the Pen City Writers, a creative writing program at the John B. Connally Unit, a prison in south Texas.
