Trees on Crofts 3: Planting for Success

A good start in life sets things up well, and this is especially true of new trees and shrubs.

Join crofter Phil Knott as he takes us through the best methods for planting and establishing new trees.

So many plantings fail or stagnate in the first 5 years and we will try and help you falling into the same traps as others when it comes to planting, staking, guards, weeding, watering and protection from exposure and pests and browsers big and small.

A big focus will be on local provenance, mulching and aftercare. Phil is a big believer in resilient systems and will offer a range of tips.

The price for each 2 hour workshop is £20 for members; £35 for non-members.
