Embark on an extraordinary journey to Gunung Sarut, the highest peak in Setiu District, standing at 1,229 meters above sea level. This mountain is part of the Terengganu Hills, a region renowned for its rich biodiversity and pristine natural beauty.

A mesmerizing emerald-green pool that mysteriously turns blue after heavy rainfall, offering a surreal swimming experience.​

A picturesque campsite adorned with unique bonsai-like trees and crystal-clear water sources, earning it the nickname "Island on a Mountain."​

From the peak, witness the breathtaking Banjaran Pantai Timur, including Gunung Tembat, Gunung Batil, Gunung Bongsu, and Gunung Lawit—the highest mountain in Terengganu.​

With minimal light pollution, enjoy a night under the stars, observing the Milky Way and experiencing an unforgettable sunrise above a sea of clouds.​

🌱 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬:
Gunung Sarut is a treasure trove of botanical diversity:

Pitcher Plants: Home to several Nepenthes species, including the endemic N. domei, N. latiffiana, and N. x setiuensis.​

Rare Flora: Discover unique species like Thismia sitimeriamiae, a recently identified plant known for its distinctive floral structure.​

Diverse Ecosystems: Traverse through various forest types, from lowland dipterocarp to upper hill forests, each hosting a myriad of plant species, including rare orchids, ferns, and palms.​

🐾 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬:
While the trail is rich in flora, it's also a habitat for diverse fauna. Notably, elephant dung has been observed along the ridge trail, indicating the presence of elephants at higher elevations—a rare phenomenon in this region. ​

The bank in details for payment, Google Form and itinerary regarding the hike will be provided in the WhatsApp group. Last Day to join is 15th August 2025. There will be a max pax of 28 pax. So be quick to make a payment of deposit to book a spot.

1. 🧭 Nature of Adventure Trips
Participants acknowledge that this is an outdoor adventure experience, and flexibility is required. Itineraries serve only as a general guide and may change due to weather, trail conditions, regulations, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances such as accidents, strikes, government directives, or natural disasters. The organizers are not liable for any delays, changes, or cancellations beyond their control.

2. 🏕 Accommodation Conditions (For Multiday Expeditions)
For multi-day hikes or expeditions, accommodation is typically wild camping and may differ significantly from hotels or homestays.
Conditions may include:
-No electricity or Wi-Fi
-Basic sanitation or natural toilet setups
-Uneven campgrounds and simple meals (if provided)
-Participants are expected to prepare mentally and physically for these conditions.

3. ⚠ Acknowledgement of Risks & Indemnity
Outdoor activities carry inherent risks including injury, illness, wildlife encounters, trail hazards, natural forces, or unexpected incidents.
By joining, you agree to assume all such risks voluntarily and agree to indemnify the organizers, hosts, and affiliates from any claims, disputes, losses, or liabilities arising from your participation.

4. 👥 Role of Organizers
Our hosts and organizers are community hiking enthusiasts, not licensed travel agents or professional guides. We facilitate hiking experiences out of passion and camaraderie.
For events requiring licensed forest access, registered local guides will be arranged in accordance with forestry and local regulations.

5. 🔍 Participation Eligibility & Safety
For safety and group cohesion, organizers reserve the right to deny or revoke participation for any reason, including if a participant is deemed unsuitable due to health, preparedness, conduct, or any other concern.

6. 💬 Health & Medical Disclosure
Participants must ensure they are physically fit and medically suitable for the activity. If you have any pre-existing conditions or require medication, please inform the organizers in advance. This is to ensure your safety and appropriate response in case of emergencies.

7. 🚫 Cancellation & Refund Policy
No refunds will be issued for participant cancellations due to personal or unforeseen reasons.
Administrative fees and trip payments are non-transferable to future events.
You may find a replacement participant at least 1 month in advance, subject to organizer approval.
Full refunds are only provided if the event is canceled by organizers or if slots/permits are unavailable.

8. ⏰ Punctuality Policy
All participants must arrive at the agreed meeting point on time. Organizers and co-hosts are not required to wait for latecomers, as it impacts the entire group. Please be punctual and respectful of others’ time.

9. 🏞 Personal Responsibility
Each participant is responsible for bringing their own essential gear, water, food, clothing, first aid items, and hiking equipment.
Please follow all safety instructions and respect nature and fellow hikers at all times.

10. 📸 Photography & Media Consent
Photos and videos may be taken during events for documentation and community sharing purposes. If you prefer not to be featured, please inform the organizers beforehand.

11. 📍 Code of Conduct
Respect fellow hikers, local customs, and nature.
No discrimination, harassment, or disruptive behavior will be tolerated. Divas, self entitled and selfish hikers will be automatically banned from future hikes, practice Leave No Trace principles (LNT) – leave trails cleaner than you found them.
