Komité for kjønnsbalanse og mangfold i forskning (Kif-komiteen) og Universitetet i Agder (UiA) inviterer til nettverkssamlingen «The visible invisibles? Being a minority background academic in Norway».

Konferansen er nasjonal og avholdes på UiA 18.–19. september 2025. Det er en lunsj-til-lunsj-konferanse som skal gi rom for uformelle samtaler. Den skal også legge til rette for at deltakerne danner nettverk på tvers.

Målgruppen er primært forskere med minoritetsbakgrunn, men også administrativt ansatte kan delta.

Med minoriteter menes etniske og nasjonale minoriteter, urfolk, innvandrere eller akademikere med innvandringsbakgrunn som opplever rasialisering og forskjellsbehandling. Men også akademikere som opplever sikkerhetsproblematikk på grunnlag av sin nasjonalitet kan delta.

• Trygge rom for diskusjon og nettverksbygging
Målet med workshopen er å skape et trygt rom for erfaringsutveksling og nettverksbygging på tvers av felt og institusjoner. Workshopen inkluderer korte introduksjonsforelesninger, gruppediskusjoner og aktiviteter.

ENGLISH:
The Committee for Gender Balance and Diversity in Research (the KIF Committee) and the University of Agder (UiA) invite you to the network gathering “The visible invisibles? Being a minority background academic in Norway”.

This is a national lunch-to-lunch conference taking place at UiA on 18–19 September 2025. The event is designed to create space for informal conversations and to support networking across institutions and disciplines.

The primary target group is researchers with minority backgrounds, but administrative staff are also welcome to attend.

Minority background in this context includes ethnic and national minorities, Indigenous peoples, immigrants, or academics with immigrant backgrounds who experience racialization and differential treatment. It also includes academics facing security concerns related to their nationality.

👥 What to expect:
• Talks by researchers and professionals
• Panel discussions and workshops
• Safe spaces for discussion and networking

The aim of the workshop is to provide a safe space for sharing experiences and building networks across fields and institutions. The programme includes short introductory talks, group discussions, and interactive activities.
