PAAS 2025 Conference: "Memory and Truth in America"

The jubilee conference of the Polish Association for American Studies (25th-27th September 2025) is hosted by the Institute of English Studies at the Jagiellonian University. Three keynote lectures by Adam Gopnik (The New Yorker), Joanna Davis-McEligatt (University of Northern Texas), and Zygmunt Mazur (Jagiellonian University), together with almost eighty papers will explore the themes of memory and truth in American Studies.

27.09 (Saturday) 16:30-19:00 Screening of the movie “The Past is Not Dead” (110 min), followed by a discussion (in Polish) with the Polish translators of Faulkner’s novels (45 min): Piotr Tarczyński and Jacek Dehnel – Collegium Paderevianum B, Room 505, 5th floor
