This 30-minute film tells the powerful story of Jean Leung, a 70-year-old woman who has dedicated the last 15 years of her life to being the guardian of Lantau Island's last generation of wild water buffalo. Once imported for agricultural work, these majestic animals now roam freely, but their existence is under threat from urban development, habitat loss, and a divided community.
The film offers a tender, unflinching look at Jean's diligent and difficult daily work, set against the backdrop of a rapidly changing Hong Kong.
The screening will be followed by an exclusive sharing session, where you can engage in a conversation with Luis Tapia, the director of the documentary, to get to know a Lantau resident with firsthand insight into the human-wildlife dynamic on the island.
Fee: Pay what you want (suggest HK$100)
