Whether you're just getting started or ready to grow your business, join us for an evening of hands-on workshops tailored to help you succeed in business. Hosted by the Alaska Small Business Development Center (Alaska SBDC) with generous support from the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce and the Kodiak Area Native Association (KANA).
SCHEDULE:
Session 1: Starting a Business • 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm • Dinner provided • Learn the essentials of launching a business in Alaska, including the core steps and key considerations for starting a business in Alaska.
Session 2: Financial Projections • 6:30 pm - 7:10 pm • Create financial projections to guide smart decisions, growth, and understand how to plan for sustainability.
Session 3: Business Plans • 7:20 pm - 8:00 pm • Turn your ideas into a strategic plan that gets results as Ruth helps you to create a roadmap of your business that communicates your vision and strategy.
Session 4: Loan Readiness • 8:00 pm - 8:30 pm • Get prepared to meet with lenders and secure funding as Ruth helps to prepare you to access funding and speak confidently with lenders.

Ruth Wolfe, Rural Center Director, Alaska SBDC. Ruth Wolfe is an Alaska Native Yup’ik with family ties to Nightmute and Perryville. Ruth is passionate about helping her community and ensuring future generations have the tools they need to succeed. Before becoming a Rural Business Advisor, Ruth worked in Commercial Real Estate, where she helped small businesses and companies buy, sell, or lease property in Alaska. Now, she helps small businesses with things like financial planning, marketing, and research. Ruth earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences with a focus on Psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She is in the process of completing her Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
