Haints and Hollers: A Ghost Story Night Hike

Step into the crisp fall air before “All Hallows’ Eve” for a special night hike at Seven Islands State Birding Park. Join Park Manager, Eric Collins, as he shares chilling stories of Appalachia — both old and new — that deepen our connection to the land the park occupies. This program blends local folklore, history, and the mystery of the night for a unique experience you won’t forget.

This program is recommended for adults and families with older children who enjoy spooky tales. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 7:00 PM. Be prepared to walk just over 2 miles along the paved surface of Kelly Lane. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The hike is rated easy to moderate and will last approximately 1.5–2 hours. Flashlights are recommended but will be provided if you do not bring one.

The cost of this program is $15 per participant.

Please come prepared with sturdy hiking shoes and a water bottle. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
