September's Theme: Swordtember
The "Swordtember" theme celebrates the power and precision of melee combat. Paint units wielding close-quarters weapons, from Space Marine blades to Tyranid talons, and everything in between. Focus on the fierce elegance and deadly strength of hand-to-hand warriors, capturing their readiness for battle with dynamic poses, sharp details, and striking designs.
► How to Enter:
Choose a model that fits the theme and paint it according to the painting rubric outlined below. The model must meet the following requirements: it should be painted with at least three colors, properly based, and composed of at least 50% Games Workshop (GW) parts.
Showcase your artistic skills by submitting your entries to the event throughout the month, where they will be displayed in a secure location for all to admire!
► Painting Rubric:
Each category can award 1-10 points.
• Preparation: Clean assembly, mold lines removed, and gaps filled
• Basecoat Coverage: Smooth and even base coat without streaks or blotches
• Color Scheme: Cohesive and appropriate choice of colors, creativity
• Blending and Layering: Smooth transitions between shades and highlights
• Shading: Effective use of shadows to enhance depth
• Detail Work: Precision in small details, like eyes, armor trims, or insignia
• Weathering Effects: Realistic wear and tear, rust, or grime (if applicable)
• Freehand Designs: Accuracy and creativity in freehand elements (if present)
• Basing: Base design and execution, including materials and integrity
• Overall Impression: General aesthetic appeal and “wow factor”

• 1st Place: $40
• 2nd Place: $20
• 3rd Place: $15
September 27th: Cut off date to submit
October 4th: Winner announced
