As one species among so many on our Earth, and even in the best of times, we humans cross the
full spectrum of goods and bads, pretties and uglies, don’t we? Today, we consider ways to
recenter who and how we are, with each other and within the diversity of all living things. How do we understand and honor our best true nature?
Organized by TVUUC’s Beloved Community, Welcoming Congregation, Green Sanctuary, and Young Adults, with Bryant’s Bridge.
Sean Bryant has been a social worker for over 35 years in domestic violence, healthcare/hospice, clinical and school social work, advocacy, and community change. He obtained a master’s
degree in social work (MSSW) and post-graduate trauma certificate from the University of Tennessee. To date, he has taught/supervised over 350 social work students. In partnership with TVUUC and 35 other community groups, he created an after-school enrichment program and a strong social service network for the community of Lonsdale from 2003-2013. In 2021, while working for the College of Social Work at UTK, Sean started Bryant’s Bridge Inc (a tiny, mostly volunteer, non-profit agency) to address youth housing insecurity. Part of his life purpose, Bryant’s Bridge is a transition home for 18-24-year-old adults who have experienced homelessness related to their LGBTQ+ status. In his spare time, he maintains a small Acceptance and Integration Training (AAIT) coaching practice and enjoys his partner, three children, hiking, kayaking, and connecting mindfully with nature.
