Empanadas & Empathy — A Fundraiser to Help Save Pets

Join us for a flavorful evening of food, friendship, and purpose — all in support of pets and the people who love them. 🐾

Led by the amazing Annette from The Spice & Tea Exchange® of Knoxville, this interactive workshop will teach you how to make authentic Latin American empanadas — those golden, hand-held pastries with savory and sweet fillings.

🥟 You’ll learn:

• The difference between Argentinian and Cuban empanadas
• How to make 3 varieties — including sweet and savory options
• How to prepare them using an air fryer
• Tips, stories, and flavor inspiration from Latin American traditions

You’ll work in groups of 2–3, and we’ll serve light beverages and snacks featuring custom spice blends, sugars, and teas from The Spice & Tea Exchange.

Proceeds benefit the Nomar & Mia Compassion Fund — a veterinary endowment through the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. The fund helps low-income pet parents afford emergency vet care when their animals need it most.
