About the event

IDEA Talks! Featuring Local Strategist and Entrepreneur, Marcio Nunes
Klamath IDEA continues its 25-26 IDEA Talks! season with featured entrepreneur Marcio Nunes, Managing Partner of On The Verge.

About this Event

After years of long winters in the oil industry in Alberta, Canada, Marcio Nunes took a job in auto sales. He quickly learned that, instead of trying to make sales, he was more interested – and much more highly skilled – at creating client relationships. This led him to start his own social media marketing company in 2016 (Mister Social), with the goal of helping companies accurately and favorably portray their culture and brand in the digital space. Helping these businesses become a place where people can feel connected and valued became the hallmark of a successful enterprise, and sparked a successful transition into On The Verge, a local strategy consulting firm where he is managing partner. In its short time, On The Verge has guided fairs, nonprofits, hospitals, and schools through growth, branding, and transformation.

Never content to stay in one lane, he shaped The Klamath Lounge coworking community, leads the development of Harmonee, a first-of-its-kind AI intelligence hub, and partnered with Oregon Tech and KCEDA to co-create the South Central Oregon Innovation (SCORI) Hub. His work reflects a core belief: the future belongs to those bold enough to build it.

"Marcio’s experience in the innovation and entrepreneurial space has some unique aspects that local entrepreneurs and ecosystem partners will appreciate. Beyond simply building a small business, his exposure to the world of venture capital and accelerating innovation has led to success not only in his ventures, but as an ecosystem partner working to cultivate innovation right here in our community,” said Darin Rutledge, Director of Klamath IDEA.

This month's event will take place at the Brevada Annex at 2229 N. Eldorado in Klamath Falls. Appetizers and two drink tickets are included in the $15 per person admission. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase. Doors open at 5:30pm for networking and the IDEA Talk will start at approximately 6:15 p.m. Visit for tickets and more information.

The 2025-2026 IDEA Talks season is sponsored by Pacific Crest Federal Credit Union and the Klamath Community College Small Business Development Center. Additional support is provided by the City of Klamath Falls, Klamath County, The Ford Family Foundation’s Growing Rural Oregon program, and through Oregon State Lottery Funds administered by Business Oregon.

About Klamath IDEA and IDEA Talks!: Klamath IDEA is a community initiative committed to developing a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in Klamath County to strengthen existing small businesses and innovators and support the emergence and attraction of new ones. To that effort, entrepreneurial-minded informative talks modeled after TED Talks are held – known as IDEA Talks – to benefit business owners, entrepreneurs, and anyone else interested in the growing entrepreneurial culture in Klamath County.

On a broader scale, Klamath IDEA facilitates the linking of the varying elements of the entrepreneurial ecosystem: economic development organizations, government agencies, business resource providers, and financial and human capital. Klamath IDEA then connects growth-minded entrepreneurs to the elements and one another by hosting networking and culture-building events, curating access to trusted entrepreneurial resources at klamathidea.org, supporting local entrepreneurial pitch and demo competitions, and brokering the connection of just-in-time resources for entrepreneurs.

Klamath IDEA is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, nonprofit organization incorporated in Oregon in early 2024. Prior to becoming an independent tax-exempt organization, Klamath IDEA operated as an assumed business name under the Klamath Community College Foundation from 2018 to 2024. The organization is financially supported by the City of Klamath Falls, Klamath County, The Ford Family Foundation’s Growing Rural Oregon program, Oregon State Lottery funds administered by Business Oregon, and private resources to provide services at no cost to our region’s entrepreneurs.
