The ACHS is honored to partner with Little Turtle From The East, a Living Tribal Community in Oil City, PA, for an event on the ACHS grounds on October 19th from 1-4 pm celebrating the Lenape People of Pennsylvania. The schedule will be as follows:
1:00 pm Calling Songs and Introductions of members
1:30 pm History of the westward migrations of the Lenape
2:00 pm Friendship Round Dance and intertribal - Children welcome to dance in intertribal dances
2:30 pm Candy Dance - Children welcome to participate!
3:00 pm Demonstration of specialty dances and intertribal
3:30 pm Questions and Answers
4:00 pm Close
This event is free and open to the public and will also include artifacts, demonstrations and educational talks. The museum will also be open to visitors.
**Please bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.
