Tack swap! Give away! Only rule is no money changes hands!
I am very much into "No Buy Challenges", "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle", and reducing my own personal consumerism. I thought it might be fun to have a bit of an event for us locally to clear out our tack rooms in a low pressure environment.
This isn't an event to bring items you'd like money for, this is for things you don't really need and don't have the time or energy to go through the process of selling. Examples are:
-saddle blankets in decent condition with life left
-bits you don't need and have had trouble selling
-reins, bridles, headstalls, cavessons, etc.
-kids boots, chaps, equipment you still have lying around but no kids for!
-switched disciplines? give away equipment you don't need but can't sell!
-anything equine related you don't need and are happy to share with your community members that do need it!
Only one rule: no money! You can give away, or do like we all did at lunch time and make a trade! My old saddle blanket for your split reins? As long as both parties are satisfied with the swap, you're good to go!
