Join us for a unique outdoor experience led by Kansas Partners for Fish & Wildlife Program and Kirwin National Wildlife Refuge staff.
This excursion offers participants the chance to learn about the biology, behavior, and habitat of the Greater Prairie Chicken—with an optional photography component for those who wish to bring their cameras.
Friday Evening – Educational Session
The event will be kicked off with an engaging presentation on the ecology, habits, and environment of Prairie Chickens in the Kirwin Wildlife Refuge area. Optional guidance will be offered for participants interested in photographing wildlife.
Saturday Morning – Field Excursion
Attendees will arrive at the viewing area early and near the refuge to observe Prairie Chickens during their peak activity.
Photography is welcome but not required. Blinds will be provided.
Please dress warmly and be prepared to remain still for several hours as temperatures can vary significantly in the early morning.
Event Fee: $50
Includes breakfast provided by the Phillips County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
