Learn To Bike - Subsidised Basic Bike Control Lessons (Small group 6)

Learn to Bike Basic bike control lessons - Get tips and hints to help your child bypass stabilisers and gain confidence quickly and carry on after the session.

This activity is more than just learning to cycle without stabilisers, it’s about building confidence so that our children can later take part in Bikeability at school with their non-ASN peers, feeling included, prepared, and proud.

These sessions are subsidised by our volunteers own fundraising efforts and will be held in small groups of 6 children.

Normally £31 per child, but we have used some of our fundraising to bring the cost down to £10 for 24 primary-aged children with ASN over 4 sessions, (younger siblings aged 3 and up are welcome to take part too).

Parents and carers are an essential part of this experience - your encouragement helps your child grow in confidence and continue practicing after the session is over. To ensure your child gets the most from the session, please avoid bringing any non participating children so that you can focus fully on supporting your learner.

Notes:

Children can bring their own bike (Please remove stabilisers before attending the session)

If your child does not have a bike they can ride the balance bikes and/or bikes at adventure Aberdeen.

Participants are required to bring an energy packed snack and - no fizzy drinks

In the past parents have brought along their babies and toddlers, this has proved to be unsuitable as you will need to give your child your undivided 1:1 attention to get the most out of the session.
