The Bag Ban Theory: Unpacking Evidence & Capacity Gaps in Caribbean Plastic Policies
As part of Semana de la Evidencia 2025 (Evidence Week), CAPRI is proud to host this report launch and discussion. Semana de la Evidencia is a regional initiative that highlights how evidence and research can be used to inform better decision-making and stronger public policies across Latin America and the Caribbean.
This session will feature the presentation of CAPRI’s latest report, The Bag Ban Theory: Evidence & Capacity Gaps in Caribbean Plastic Policies. The report, funded by the European Union, examines the effectiveness of plastic bag bans in Jamaica, Barbados, and Antigua, exploring what has worked, what hasn’t, and where gaps in capacity and enforcement remain.
Join policymakers, academics, civil society, and the public for a timely discussion on lessons learned and opportunities to strengthen environmental policy in the Caribbean.
Date: Thursday, October 16 | Time: 6 PM (GMT-5) | Location: AC Hotel, Kingston
