Kick off 2026 and clear your hangover with a refreshing SSWG stroll at this beautiful Royal Park.
ABOUT
A lovely, mostly flat 2.5 mile walk – the incline at the end is barely worth mentioning - through Richmond Park's Isabella Plantation, an ornamental garden with pretty water features. We'll enjoy some fine grasslands and pass the Pen Ponds.
A number of the paths are well maintained, surfaced paths. The rest are through grass, which DO get waterlogged and muddy during winter so usual the caution about decent footwear applies.
IS THERE A "WALKS WITH RENA" PAGE FOR HERE?

TIME & PARKING
We’ll set off at 10:30am. Richmond Park is a popular place and, while we are going from the large car park at Broomfield Hill, lots of people will also have thought starting the year with a walk a good thing to do.
Please leave plenty of time to park. If you get there early, keep the dogs warm in the car and get a coffee from the cafe in the car park :)
MEET POINT
Once parked up, gather on the grass to the side of the car park entrance and cafe. We'll get going at 10:30;
GOOGLEMAPS LINK:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/WRi5WMvq2QkGpa8a6?g_st=ic should take you directly to the car park. On Googlemaps app, search for Isabella Plantation Cafe.
If it doesn't work, try this to Kingston Gate instead:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/mPoHEy12eMiPeoH27?g_st=ic Enter the park via Kingston Gate. At the roundabout go right and follow the park road to the big car park at the end.

WALK RULES
Usual SSWG rules apply:
1. Dogs must be kept on lead and under control (if your dog needs a muzzle, use it)
2. Deal with dog poo appropriately - bag it and bin it/take it home or stick'n'flick if there is foliage alongside the path into which it is suitable to do so
3. Please make a donation to the pink bucket (cash) or via PayPal: paypal.me/surreysighthounds
All funds split between WGW and CCGT.
All dogs must be kept under the control and supervision of their owners. All dogs attend at their owners' risk and, while every care will be taken, the volunteers that organise these walks accept no responsibility for loss, damage or injury however caused to dogs, persons or property while at these events.
