Cold Case: Edgar Allan Poe
A Murder Mystery Weekend
Friday, October 10th to Sunday, October 12th
An American writer, poet, editor, and literary critic who is best known for his poetry and short stories, particularly his tales involving mystery and the macabre. On October 3, 1849, Poe was found semiconscious in Baltimore, "in great distress, and... in need of immediate assistance", according to Joseph W. Walker, who found him. He was taken to Washington Medical College, where he died on Sunday, October 7, 1849, at 5:00 in the morning.
Edgar Allan Poe's stories are renowned for their dark, macabre, and suspenseful atmosphere, often exploring themes of death, loss, and the supernatural. He is a key figure in the development of both horror and detective fiction.
But what if Edgar Allan Poe’s writings was his way of telling us about a crime he witnessed as a young man. Clues in plain sight?
Could it tell us who murdered him too?
Spend this special weekend with Edgar Allen Poe as he talks to us through his writings from the grave. This Cold Case Murder Mystery will start on Friday with a cocktail hour meet and greet where you will receive your Cold Case folder of reports, notes, newspaper clippings and old photos. Then on Saturday morning, we will meet for breakfast and more will be revealed. Work on puzzles and clues through the day and return for a Gothic Dinner where the final clues will be given. At breakfast on Sunday morning, we will solve the Cold Case together.
