John Ellison along with The Carpenter Ants will be appearing at The Kimball Fall Festival

Please join us as we are backing up US Soul Legend, Award Winning singer/songwriter and 2015 West Virginia Music Hall of Fame inductee John Ellison at the Kimball Fall Festival and Annual Head of the Dragon event from 3pm to 6pm. John Ellison returns to his home county of McDowell to perform his songs and share his story.

John is a McDowell County WV native and former member of the seminal Rochester, New York-based group Soul Brothers Six back in the 1960s. Ellison is best known for writing the song "Some Kind of Wonderful." The song was a Top 10 hit for Grand Funk Railroad in 1974. To date, the song has sold more than 42 million copies, has been covered by over 70 artists and has had more than 6 million airplays. Ellison’s newest album, Some Kind of Wonderful is a collection of his greatest hits throughout the decades.
