Pottery Show: Mzoe Arts by Thabane Mpofu

Join us at Williams Hall for an afternoon of one-of-a-kind ceramic creations by Mzoe Arts, featuring the work of South African artist Thabane Mpofu.

Born in Durban and raised in Johannesburg, Mpofu discovered ceramics at just five years old, inspired by his late father — a talented potter whose artistry continues to guide his own. Through Mzoe Arts, Mpofu not only shares his passion for clay but also uplifts his community, employing and mentoring fellow artisans.

“Ceramic art connects me to my father,” Mpofu reflects. “It allows me to honor his memory while expressing my own creativity.”

Come explore his collection of meaningful, hand-crafted works and celebrate the timeless art of pottery.
