Virtual Lesson: Fish Anatomy and Identification (Afternoon)

As part of our Marine Science for All Initiative, Reef Relief offers free virtual marine science lessons held via zoom to the public several times each month throughout the school year.

There are over 33,000 kinds of fish worldwide that come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors. Their body features have adapted over time to help them survive in the special environmental conditions they are found in. Some fish are built for speed, others are built to blend in. (*This lesson focuses on marine species of fish.)

Lesson includes: what is a fish, fish anatomy, how we identify fish including body shape, colorations, and special adaptations, common threats to fish, how we can help.
