Enjoy a day of exploration as we discover what life was like on a Victorian-Era farm! This special Homeschool Day is designed to encourage learning and discovery through interactive, farm-themed activities for students of all ages. Homeschool Day provides opportunity for outdoor play, hands-on exploration of plants and animals, creativity and engaging crafts, and celebrating the rhythms of farm life during the time the Körner family occupied historic Körner's Folly.
Homeschool groups and families will be able to enjoy up-close experiences with baby goats from The Romesburg Family Farm and discover local plants native to our region with a hands-on plant station led by horticulturalists from Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden. This is a great opportunity for students and families to enjoy a day of fun and interact with agriculture and animals while learning about the important role farms played for Americans during the Victorian era.
This program offers self-guided tours, historic yard games and toys, hands-on art activities, and a special “Fun on the Farm” scavenger hunt through all 22 rooms of Körner’s Folly. In the John & Bobbie Wolfe Visitors Center Community Room, homeschoolers will be able to complete word searches, and hands-on activities focused on plants and animals during the Victorian era!
Register in advance at kornersfolly.org, or onsite on the day of the program. All activities included with registration fee.
Last house entry time is at 1:00 PM. Plan to come early or stay later after your tour. Activities can be done in any order! Families are welcome to bring lunch to eat picnic-style on our grounds or in the John and Bobbie Wolfe Visitors Center Community Room.
