Sound Transit Kent Des Moines Station Opening Celebration

Join us for the grand opening of the new Sound Transit Kent/Des Moines Light Rail Station. This free, family friendly celebration will feature seven themed gardens filled with art, history, food trucks, youth activities, cultural performances, and community resources. Guests can explore hands on exhibits, meet local businesses, and enjoy entertainment from regional schools and cultural groups throughout the day.

This event is hosted by the Success Foundation and presented by Sound Transit in partnership with the City of Kent, the City of Des Moines, and local community organizations. The celebration highlights the heart, culture, and diversity of the Southside while welcoming a new era of connection and transit access in our region.

Guests are encouraged to take transit to the event.
