ONE in FIVE kids relies on their school's free and reduced meal program to provide the nourishment they need to learn and grow. But what happens when the kids leave school on Friday? Join us in making a positive impact to prevent weekend hunger.

It might surprise you to learn that there are hungry kids in every neighborhood across America—yes, even in the Ken-Ton area. This problem has only worsened in the past year and a half. Some are fortunate to have food on their table every night, but others are fighting for what’s left.

Thankfully, there’s something we can do about this problem.

As you might know, we’re helping to bring Blessings in a Backpack to the Ken-Ton School District. In short, Blessings in a Backpack provides food to kids on the weekend who might otherwise go hungry. We want to make sure that the kids in our neighborhood don’t have to worry about where their next meal will come from. To start, Ken-Ton Blessings in a Backpack hopes to feed 100 kids from the elementary schools each weekend. This is a grass roots effort and community support is crucial. Please join us for our Fundraiser on August 16th to help raise the necessary funds, and bring a microwavable mac & cheese to fill our first Weekend Provisions cart.
