Practice paddle strokes, rescues, and rolls as she and her husband, Pete, also a club member, used to do at Leaser Lake. Bring all the gear you have and dress for immersion!

Rita was a relatively new yet very enthusiastic and active club member and paddler, contributing and accomplishing a great amount in a short time.
She became a club member in 2019 and club treasurer in 2020, serving for 2.5 years.
In 2021, Rita completed both the open water and moving water classes, and went on the Alagash River Canoeing Trip.
In 2023, she was named LVKCC paddler of the year and earned an ACA Coastal Kayaking Level 3 skills assessment in Annapolis during Tropical Storm Ophelia.
Rita will be remembered for her can-do attitude, great sense of humor, and the determination she put into everything she took on. It was always a pleasure to have her along on a paddle.
July 13 will be 4 months since she passed.
