“The Unstoppable Jenny Garcia” tells the story of 13-year-old Jenny Garcia (Ava Louise Murchison; “Jane,” “Reacher”), a talented and driven Filipino-Canadian dancer from Scarborough who is on a mission to lead her dance troupe to fame - until a cancer diagnosis threatens to rob her of her dreams.



The show is an English adaptation of the first season of the extremely popular French-Canadian series, JENNY, and has been adapted by Catherine Hernandez to tell the authentic story about the effects of cancer on an immigrant Filipino family, with themes that resonate universally. In this adaptation Jenny and her family immigrated to Scarborough, a bustling immigrant neighbourhood that is home to many new Canadians. The series explores the ups and downs of life for families like the Garcias from the Philippines - within the medical system and in the community.
