Author & illustrator Thomas Gustainis brings wonder and wit to the everyday in Not for You and Still Not for You.


Not For You and its follow-up Still Not for You are not your typical children’s books. Written and illustrated by artist and educator Thomas Gustainis, these works combine dark humor, philosophy, and art to explore the magic of existence, the beauty of the everyday, and our small – but significant – place in the universe.


Through playful, abstract illustrations and thoughtful storytelling, Gustainis addresses the paradox of life: we are fleeting, yet deeply connected to everything around us. As he reminds readers, “The light from stars has existed long before us and will continue long after we have the privilege to witness it. It was never here for us. The light is an echo – as the star might be long gone by the time we experience the twinkle.”
