This project invites nature lovers of all ages and experience levels to explore the wild side of our urban arboretum.
Participants will document wild species only, including insects, birds, mammals, fungi, and naturally occuring (non-curated) plants found on the Library grounds. Whether you're here for the kickoff day or submitting observations on your lunch break, your contributions help us understand and protect local biodiversity.
What counts:
- Wild plants (not intentionally planted or maintained)
- Birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians
- Insects, spiders, and other invertebrates
- Mushrooms, lichens, and mosses
What DOESN'T count:
- Cultivated or curated plants (like landscape beds or tree collections)
- Pets or humans
